30 hours of my weekend were spent alt+tabbing between AutoCAD, 3D Studio and Photoshop. Here are the (still unfinished) products:

Living in the heart of Hollywood, I feel that it is my duty to give my reviews of the films nominated this year for Best Picture:

The Aviator- Didn’t see it.
Finding Neverland- Didn’t see it.
Million Dollar Baby- Didn’t see it.
Ray- Didn’t See it. (No pun intended).
Sideways- Didn’t see it.

If you care to know the details/program, go here. Otherwise, enjoy the photos. Or not. [extra credit offered here too for identifying the photos of the authors.]

Sorry that I took an unplanned, accidental two-week hiatus. It has been an incredibly busy and stressful couple of weeks, but I won’t bore you with the details.

I am presently housesitting for Searcy while he is on a work trip for 8 days. it’s like a little vacation while still staying within the Los Angeles jurisdiction. And BTW, Yeoh, Searc may be calling you to hang out and to take him to that little hip-hop dungeon in Bondi that we went to.

Sacha goes to the Burgundy Room. I am wondering if I have ever seen her there. Or, more importantly, if she has ever seen me?

Living in the heart of Hollywood, one deals with the film industry often enough, but is it really necessary to close Hollywood Blvd. 5 days before the Oscars? It is making my daily commute hellacious.

I am currently wearing one article of Dior, and I think that everyone should daily. The world would be aesthetically better.

3D modeling takes a long time. I have an assignment to completely model Richard Meier’s Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art in a weekend. It took him 7 years. I have been staring at this computer screen for way too many hours this weekend. [sidenote: how much better is this museum than the Getty?]

This is exactly what a housesitting architect’s workspace looks like:

Coffee, beer, cigarettes and iTunes. I couldn’t work properly without any of them. So to the multi-conglomerates who produce them I say “Thank you.”

Recommend me a good book. For the first time in my life, I have no idea what is going on in the literary world.

Music playing right this second: Seven Seas by Echo & The Bunnymen.

I haven’t stop thinking about The Five Obstructions since I watched it. Although My Architect is kinda trying to trump it right now.

The sci-arc supply store really solidifies the kid-in-a-candystore metaphor. I spent several hundred $ there this week in a matter of a few minutes.

I don’t know if I have discussed my beard on here, but I had grown a pretty proper backwoodsman beard and I just tamed it today. The tamer look goes better with Dior.

And finally. Thank you very much to everyone who sent me birthday wishes. I wish that I could thank you each individually, but I am way too self-centered. But I appreciate it. To the dudes I say “thanks”, and to the chicks I say “you can bounce around on top of me soonly”.

Love,
King

i’m really tired. it’s 5:30AM and I haven’t slept and I won’t until 9:00PM-ish tonight. Pray for me. Atheists can denounce things for me. And nihilists do nothing.

Here are images of my model from my first project. Reviews went really well. i’m too tired to go into the entire design process, but briefly:

I had to design an underground space of 300 square feet or less. My element was METAL. My program was PURIFICATION. My human tendency was CLEANSING. So I designed a huge underground metal flower growing from the ground. The “pistil” collects water and one can go to the space at the bottom and cleanse/bathe in the Sun/water. The metal “petals” direct the sunlight into the underground space. Scroll down a little bit to see the plan/section/diagrams/intent.

My presentation poster for the project that I presented on Tuesday. It went v.v. well. I will put pictures of the model on here and my other site soon.
