Looking up inside a Serra Sculpture.

The Kimbell

Light in the Kimbell.

Dan Flavin Retrospective at the Modern.

Warhol at a Modern museum? Well, I never…

Dallas has a lot of freeways.

And they are building more…

and they look kinda awesome when they converge.

A forgettable building that looked cool from Reunion Tower.

The Serra Sculpture in front of the Modern again.
Anyone who thinks that they kinda know me, knows that there are two things in this world that I truly love; early Van Halen and defibrillation. So, how in the world had no one told me that Diamond David Lee Roth is now a Paramedic on the Lower East Side (of Manhattan, duh)? No links, because I am totally over linking. If you don’t believe me type some words into Google.
I am currently vacationing in Texas. Where does an architecture student go when he is on holiday? Fort Worth. I have been to the Kimbell many times, but this is my first time at Ando’s Modern. I wish that it was more accessible/visible from the perimeter, but once inside it is quite good. Here are about 6 of literally 1000 photos taken today. I also went up in Reunion Tower and got some great 360 degree shots of the city. I guess I haven’t shown pictures of me in a bit, so fans of my great looks should really enjoy the new bearded look I am using this Spring.

Project is due tomorrow. Model done. Drawings in progress. A bit of dislocation is happening in my mind. The only thing that I can think to write right now is:
Is Stereolab the best band ever?
I have lived in LA for quite a few years now. I am pretty adept at navigating the streets, at least from the City Of Santa Monica to, maybe, the 101. The whole Glendale CA-2 area throws me into a state of horizontal vertigo and I inevitably end up seeing street signs bearing words that I haven’t heard since the LA Riots. Today’s little excursion took me deep into East LA, and then to a place called Vernon. To make things worse, I was out of cigarettes and overdressed to be in the ghetto so I was scared to get out of my car to buy new cigarettes. The only positive is that Says You was on NPR at the time, so I wasn’t entirely unhappy to be in the car.
