I have a new respect for teachers. I have been teaching Rhino classes for the past 2 days, for 10 hours a day. It is fucking exhausting. It’s fun and all of that, but yeah, totally and completely exhausting. I have been TA-ing classes in which I teach Rhino for a couple of hours a day twice a week, but an all day Rhino Marathon is another story altogether.

The first year class that I am teaching Rhino have really learned it well and learned it rather quickly. It’s amazing the generational gap that I can see even between the Fifth year and First year students, the younger the kids are the better they are with computers. Over spring break I assigned my first year students a project to model something in their house with a couple of curves. The results were mind-blowing. I expected 24 boring vases, but got full chess sets, a hookah, a really detailed coke can (with pull tab), and a 1967 (I think) Ford Mustang with an engine. I was incredibly impressed. I am going to make them email me renderings for my teaching portfolio and I will share some of them with you.

I am about half way done with my steel competition project, and will try to upload some imagery soon. Other than that I am preparing for my 3 month escapade/study-a-thon in China and Europe. I have to go get shot up with Hepatitis A & Tetanus & DPT serum tomorrow. And I have to write/compose two books about Beijing and Berlin.. I will provide more details about these as I figure them out. I may ask for help from of few of my worldwide readership, I’m huge in China according to my traffic reports.
