As you can see, my site has changed.  I am in the process of a full site overhaul, and the look will be changing quite a bit.  So, please pardon some of the messiness and the giant category tags, I will fix everything as soon as possible.  Still deciding on colors too.

Yeah. Big decision to make. And I need to make it soon. Anyone have one of those magic 8-ball things? Is there an internet version? I’m gonna go look. [ctrl+t - search "magic 8-ball"] Yep, first result.

Question 1: Should i take a year off before grad school and work in ___________ (kind of a secret)?
Answer 1: My sources say no.

Let me rephrase…

Question 2: I’m totally scholastically burned out and may possibly have the chance of a lifetime job; should I take the job and go to grad school a year later?
Answer 2: My sources say no.

Wait, does this thing only say that one answer…

Question 3: Do you only know how to say “my sources say no”?
Answer 3: Absolutely!

Ok. I am more confused than when I began…

Maybe I won’t leave it to a CGI Magic Eight Ball to make this decision for me. I’m gonna do it the responsible way—by flipping a coin.

I just watched the new Wes Anderson short Hotel Chevalier billed as Part One of the forthcoming The Darjeeling Limited. Natalie Portman gets fully naked and has bruises on her body. The short is good, not great, and I am certainly looking forward to the full release.

Link to the free iTunes download of Hotel Chevalier.

My friend Heather has an online Boutique called Bona Drag. Heather has some of the finest taste of anyone that I have ever met, and is one of the few people who has good ideas and actually does things. You should all go and buy something from her. I totally would, but she doesn’t have any dudestuff.

[UPDATE:  Totally found some dudestuff and I think I will buy this watch]

My maid is coming in the morning and I need to get the place straight so she can actually clean. Instead I decided to go through pictures of my brunch in the valley, I meant Brunch In The Valley and adjust levels and curves and post them here for you. I apologize Rosa, tomorrow (manana, see, I’m learning) you must straighten and clean.

My Brunch in the Valley. Shirt by Paul Smith, shorts by Jetrag and me, glasses by Target, brunch by some place on Ventura that had great praline butter that I should have bought but I forgot, wristwear by twine that I was building models with and thought it would look kind of punk/hippie so I put it on.

Tonight.  Tonight.  I have been working for 2 days straight, I think.  I should just go home and sleep, but I decided I needed to redesign my website.  It’s almost time to be professional; so time to diagram.

Anyhow.  I accidentally drank too many glasses of wine and forgot about work, website, degree project, art/architecture installation and everything.  I just watched Stewart/Colbert and forgot that I didn’t have time to sleep or watch TV.

But speaking of art/architecture installations, I need 3000+ t-shirts (I’ll explain the idea later, just give them to me) so I am asking my readers to donate.  If you have t-shirts to spare, email me here and we can arrange to pick them up.   The opening is at the end of October (on a Friday but not sure of the date) and I will give you details as the date approaches.  But for now just give me your t-shirts and trust that I will make art out of them.

Stewart/Colbert are over and some ventriloquist is on.  Does anyone think this is funny?  I haven’t watched TV in years and it seems like everything has gone backward.  Arrested Development got canceled and people watch this bullshit and Mind of Mencia?

I’m drunk and confused.

Give me your T-shirts.  I really need them.

It was pouring when I woke up this morning. I can’t remember the last time it rained this hard in Los Angeles, and I love it. When I went outside I felt like closing my eyes, lifting my hands toward the heavens and spinning around with several cameras filming me from multiple angles—instead I scurried quickly into my car.

Driving to Burbank was slow and the roads were totally flooded, but I still loved it. I saw recycling bins surfing down steep hills next to the 101.

I really need to start carrying my camera with me at all times.

I wonder how all of this rain affects the butterflies.

This is my first stab at creating a form from the Lorenz Attractor (Butterfly Effect) algorithm. I need to tweak a few numbers in the Maya script to get various sets of results. But I think it’s pretty beautiful already.

MEL Script:

//—————————————————————
int $i=0;

int $j=1;

int $max = 1000; //number of circles generated

float $myx0,$myy0,$myz0,$myx1,$myy1,$myz1;

float $myh = 0.01;

float $mya = 28; //a, b, and c are a set of commonly used

float $myb = 46.92; //constants to generate the Lorenz attractor
float $myc = 4;
$myx0 = 0.1;

$myy0 = 0;

$myz0 = 0;

for ($i=0;$i<$max;$i++)

{

circle -c $myx0 $myy0 $myz0 -r 0.5;

//differential equations

$myx1 = $myx0 + $myh * $mya * ($myy0 - $myx0);

$myy1 = $myy0 + $myh * ($myx0 * ($myb - $myz0) - $myy0);

$myz1 = $myz0 + $myh * ($myx0 * $myy0 - $myc * $myz0);

$myx0 = $myx1;

$myy0 = $myy1;

$myz0 = $myz1;

}
select -allDagObjects;

scale -r 0.05 0.05 0.05 ;

loft -ch 1;

select -allDagObjects;

select -d loftedSurface1;

delete;

Thanks a million to Fiona Mortimer for translating the original C source code to MEL.

The above image is the logo I have made for my degree project. I’ll explain it later. I’m too tired.
